Robert Tomlinson

Mr. Tomlinson works with senior executives, teams and organizations to define, plan and implement strategies for increased effectiveness and productivity.  He combines the knowledge gained from past experiences in introducing technology and improving human interactions, with his special interests in creative thinking and human: system effectiveness, to increase the productivity of private, public, and not-for-profit organizations.

¨       designed and facilitated strategic planning process to select new strategic directions adaptive to radically changing business environments for several organizations such as a regional bank, a unit of a federal agency, and a North American professional society

¨       advised several senior management teams on how to resolve political resistance to re-engineering

¨       designed and facilitated process to create organization-wide team responsible to lead top-to-bottom cultural change through the implementation of Enterprise Resource Planning software

¨       facilitated disaster recovery process for headquarters of an international financial company

¨       conducted focus group of Fortune 100 customers for direct input to CEO and Senior Management

¨       designed and facilitated process to shift role of 100 supervisors of a Fortune 50 plant to role of coach

¨       lead a team to review and recommend structural and policy changes to reduce the inherent work stress, and to increase productivity of a major business process for a $4 billion company

¨       evaluated the effectiveness of quality initiatives, worldwide for a $3 billion company and made recommendations to the CEO and his direct reports for taking their process to the next level

¨       facilitated senior leadership team to create new business approaches which added 19% to bottom line

¨       helped establish role of facilitator in several organizations

¨       developed the planning and budgeting process to involve multi-tier input and two-way communication for a North American not-for-profit professional association.

Mr. Tomlinson has twenty years experience in human interaction, creating work structures, and optimizing work relationships.  He uses his knowledge of human and business psychology to develop strategies for changing existing cultures to more productive environments, to empower work forces to take responsibility for day-to-day decision making, and to challenge work teams to break out of their limiting thought paradigms to creatively redefine their work.  He also engages in conflict resolution with partners, managers/employees, cross-functional staffs, and gender, racial, or ethnically diversified groups or teams.
