Boyd
H. Scheff is a training and development specialist with extensive
experience in the development and implementation of multi-level
management and staff training seminars.
Prior to establishing his own firm, The Lighthouse Training
Group, in 1985, Mr. Scheff’s background included Vice President and
Director of Management Development for Drexel Burnham Lambert; Associate
Director with the American Management Association; Sales Manager with
the New York Times. Mr. Scheff has developed and conducted management seminars
for supervisors, middle managers and senior executives.
His specialty is helping managers develop the interpersonal
skills so critical to effective leadership.
Some of those critical skills are communicating effectively,
legal issues for managers, motivating, coaching and counseling,
decision-making and conducting effective performance reviews.
He has also developed and led numerous negotiating seminars for a
wide range of clients. The emphasis in the negotiating seminars is a problem solving
approach, one in which both parties achieve their goals.
Mr. Scheff is a frequent seminar leader for the American
Management Association in both the Partnership Development Group and the
Center for Management Development. Mr. Scheff’s clientele includes business, industry,
banking, education, government, utilities, manufacturing, and the
associations that serve them. A
